What does it mean to say yes to God’s calling? In this message, Alan Smith challenges believers to recognize that salvation is only the beginning, and that God calls every Christian to serve.

Through the story of Arthur, who responds to a simple invitation to help at a community shelter, Alan shows how God can use ordinary acts of service. He also reflects on Charlie’s years in Thailand and the moment he fully committed to the assignment God had placed before him. Often, faith comes before certainty, and one yes can open the way to another.

Drawing on 2 Timothy 1:9, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Ephesians 4:11-12, and other passages, this sermon explores the priesthood of all believers, the work of ministry, and what it means to move “from glory to glory.” Alan invites the church to consider how God may be calling each person to serve, even when the exact assignment isn’t clear yet.

We also share why we’re building a fellowship of ministries at New Life Church: to recognize each believer’s response to God, encourage one another, and serve together. Watch through the closing prayer, then take time with Scripture and consider where your next yes may lead.
